Royal Bolton Hospital
When Royal Bolton Hospital started to run out of storage for their medical records in 2007, negotiations began with JJ Bolchover Architects to look for alternative storage facilities. We were then approached by JJ Bolchover Architects to assess the area. Pleased with our proposal, they recommended us to the client.
Design Stage

The layout we produced maximised the available space with high density mobile shelving especially for case notes storage. As the notes needed to be left on the campus, a section of the car park was identified and a purpose built 2 storey medical records department was designed and built in 2009 around our proposed plan.
Production Stage

As a result, a total of 1,001 bays of Fineline shelving were installed. Each bay has 7 storage levels high with 2 full height dividers fitted to each level. This provided them with a total of 7,007 linear filing metres giving them 21,021 pigeon holes to use for their existing terminal digit filing.
